About us

Who we are, what this site is for, and how it pays for itself.

Dollars & Decisions covers spending, saving, debt for readers who want the mechanism rather than the recommendation. We would rather explain why something is the case than tell you what to buy.

What we cover

The site is organised into 5 sections:

  • Spending — Where money actually goes, and which cuts are worth making.
  • Saving — Emergency funds, goals and the accounts that hold them.
  • Debt — Interest, order of repayment, and the difference between kinds of borrowing.
  • Investing Basics — The first principles, with the risks stated as plainly as the returns.
  • Money & Mind — Why sensible people make predictable mistakes with their own money.

Household and personal money. Not workplace pay, not insurance, not energy bills. Keeping the remit narrow is deliberate; a title that covers everything covers nothing well.

How we work

We check things. When a subject is genuinely unsettled, the piece says it is unsettled rather than picking the tidier answer. When advice depends on your circumstances — and it usually does — the article says which circumstances matter.

Our full editorial policy sets out how pieces are researched, reviewed and corrected.

How this site is funded

The site is funded by advertising. Advertising has no influence over what we cover or what we conclude, and no advertiser sees an article before it is published. Nothing on this site is sponsored content, and if that ever changes it will be labelled clearly at the top of the piece.

Who publishes it

Dollars & Decisions is published by Sharma Media House, a business owned and run by Palak Sharma, registered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It has been publishing since 2021.

The registered address appears on our contact page and in our terms and conditions. The quickest way to reach the editorial desk is the form on the contact page, or editorial@dollarsanddecisions.shop.
